Learn to mend holes, rips, and tears in almost any garment. Use decorative stitching and add new fabrics to create artful pieces that are truly one of a kind, and reduce clothing consumption and waste at the same time. Socks, sweaters, jeans, and shirts are just a few options!

Bring 2-3 garments you want to mend and threads to work with your garments. You may need knitting yarn, sock yarn, embroidery floss, or all-purpose threads. Extra fabric for patches.

Basic sewing tools:

• Working sewing machine including cord, foot pedal, bobbins, and machine needles if you are mending garments(Call or text the store if you need to borrow one for class.)
• Sewing scissors
• Tape measure
• Seam ripper
• 6” Seam gauge
• Straight pins and pin cushion
• Hand sewing needles

Class materials can be purchased at Sew Inviting. Students receive a 10% discount on class materials. Staff can help you purchase acceptable fabrics.

Class space is reserved with full payment. 

Cancellation policy: Any cancellations will be refunded for store credit minus a $25 processing fee. Within 72 hours of class starting there are no refunds.

Sew Inviting requires three students to hold a class. If three students are not registered three days before the class begins, you will be contacted to arrange a refund or reschedule to another class. 

Classes are held at Sew Inviting, 647 Snelling Avenue South, Saint Paul, MN 55116. Parking is available behind and on the north side of the building. During inclement weather, please bring slippers or clean shoes to wear in the classroom.
