Hand Embroidery
Embroidery is a fun, accessible art that you can do anywhere! With only a few supplies and basic stitches, you can create beautiful images in cloth and thread. Learn stem stitch, satin stitch, French knots, and more to create any kind of embroidered design for framing, pillows, or garments. In class we will learn on an "embroidery sketchpad" of stitches for you to keep for reference.
Supplies:
Fabric: a mid-weight linen/cotton blend is ideal. White or light solid color. You will need a 12" square.
Embroidery hoop: 6" - 8" diameter
Embroidery floss: cotton DMC in whatever colors you like
Needles: embroidery, crewel, or tapestry needles with large eye
Small sharp scissors
Notebook and pencil for taking notes
Inspiration! Bring any books, kits, or images that you'd like to learn to stitch
Optional but helpful: needle threader, thimble, beeswax
Class space is reserved with full payment.
Cancellation policy: Any cancellations will be refunded for store credit minus a $25 processing fee. Within 72 hours of class starting there are no refunds.
Sew Inviting requires three students to hold a class. If three students are not registered three days before the class begins, you will be contacted to arrange a refund or reschedule to another class.
Classes are held at Sew Inviting, 647 Snelling Avenue South, Saint Paul, MN 55116. Parking is available behind and on the north side of the building.
