The beauty of the Pepin Tote is that it can be made and embellished in many different ways. For this class we are making it as simple as possible. You will learn to cut a pattern or cut by measurements using a rotary cutter, apply interfacing, add a Velcro closure, box corners, and assemble the bag. All of these skills can be built on to make more complicated bags.

The class fee includes the paper pattern. Bring the following bag supplies to class:

• 1 yard NON-DIRECTIONAL Exterior Fabric - Canvas or Denim are great options but Quilting cotton will work great becasue it will have interfacing
• 2/3 yard NON-DIRECTIONAL Lining Fabric (includes interior pocket) - Quilting cotton or similar
• 2 yards Fusible Woven Interfacing  20”-wide - Talk to staff if you would prefer a fleece interfacing for more body
• 60 inches cotton webbing for handles (about 1 in)

• Working sewing machine including cord, foot pedal, bobbins, and machine needles 
• Sewing scissors
• Tape measure
• Seam ripper
• 6” Seam gauge
• Straight pins and pin cushion
• Please bring a rotary cutter if you have one

Class materials can be purchased at Sew Inviting. Students receive a 10% discount on class materials. Staff can help you purchase acceptable fabrics.

Class space is reserved with full payment. 

Cancellation policy: Any cancellations will be refunded for store credit minus a $25 processing fee. Within 72 hours of class starting there are no refunds.

Sew Inviting requires three students to hold a class. If three students are not registered three days before the class begins, you will be contacted to arrange a refund or reschedule to another class. 

Classes are held at Sew Inviting, 647 Snelling Avenue South, Saint Paul, MN 55116. Parking is available behind and on the north side of the building.
