Rainy weather is perfect for sewing inside, especially if you are making summer clothes for sunny days ahead. I made the Fira dress by Liesl + Co out of a lightweight cotton. It was a quick make with easy to follow instructions. Sew Inviting has bolts of cotton lawn with great colors and textures.

Fabulous Fabric Fun kids’ camps started this week. The industrious tweens took over the studio in the morning, making shirts, skirts, bags, pajamas, and stuffed animals. The younger kids came in the afternoon for hand sewing crafts. Tell your friends and neighbors that there are spots in camps this summer. Register here.

Sew Inviting is partnering with Sew Good Goods to sew for good. In person sewing sessions start in the fall. Until then, feel free to pick up a set of pillow cases to sew. When you return the finished pillow cases they will be donated to Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
