Red Envelopes available Wednesday December 4

Starting this Wednesday customers receive a Red Envelope with each purchase. The envelopes include a gift that will be revealed the envelope is redeemed at the store between January 2 and February 5. Look for more information on Wednesday.

There are a few openings TOMORROW Tuesday, December 3, to make pillow cases for the Groveland Food Shelf in Minneapolis.  

I am grateful for my staff

This week I introduce Mary, one of the most creative and patient people I know. She learned to sew as a child with a mom who challenged her and helped her grow her sewing skills. Mary studied costuming and education in college. Costuming led to work in bridal and costume design as well as vintage garment repair and restoration. You also see it in her upcycling projects. Education means she is an excellect teacher for our youngest sewers. The store is always hopping when Mary teaches the kids. Mary's favorite tool in the store is the classroom Juki machine we also sell. It is an easy machine to sew with (it makes great buttonholes) and it has enough features that it will grow with your skills.

New Class Posted

Sewing SOS is a one session class for sewing help. Think about fitting, understanding a pattern, getting direction on a difficult aspect of construction, or other places you are stuck in your sewing. This is a time for you to get sewing help. 

Other class options include:

• Five session evening Sewing Workshop starting TOMORROW
• Kids winter break Pajama Making on 1/2 and 1/3. 
• All day Sewing Workshop on 12/13 or 12/28
• Welcome to the Machine 12/15
• Friday Sewing Circle 12/20
• New sessions of Sew to Wear: Beginning Garment Sewing in January and February
