I am excited about all that is happening at Sew Inviting in May. Sewists of all abilities are invited to join us on May 20 to make laundry bags for the People's Laundry MPLS. Register for one of the remaining slots. This is a great project for new sewists - all straight lines!

The Sustainable Stitch Sale is scheduled for May 29-31. Sellers are dropping off fabric and we are planning the Happy Hour in conjunction with Frocktails from 4-7 on Friday, May 29. If you plan to sell fabric, send an email to questions@sewinvitingmn.com so you can get your seller number and all the details for prepping and dropping off your fabrics by May 21.

Finally, there are many new fabrics in the store and more arriving weekly. Stop by to feel them and visit with us. I appreciate your support of the store. ~Laura and Staff

Sew to Wear: Beginning Garment Sewing
Learn to sew clothing in this fun and creative five-week beginner sewing class at Sew Inviting! Perfect for new sewists, this class will guide you through the basics of garment sewing from start to finish. You’ll learn how to use a sewing machine, choose patterns and fabrics, cut out pattern pieces, follow sewing instructions, and construct a simple garment you’ll be proud to wear.

Whether you’ve never sewn before or want to build confidence with garment making, this class is a fantastic introduction to sewing and a great way to spark your creativity! There are two spots in the class starting this Thursday evening.

FOR INSPIRATION

Cindy took a fitting class with Elizabeth to work on this shirt she showed off at a recent Sewing Studio. If you want to learn more about fitting, consider a Sewing Weekend Workshop. The all day sewing class is a great way to dive into a project and expand your fitting and sewing skills.
