Let the sorting begin! Wow, the fabric brought in for the Sustainable Stitch Sale is amazing! We will be getting it tagged and prepped and ready for sale next Friday. I can't wait to see how this all works out.

Thank you to everyone who sewed laundry bags this week for The People's Laundry MPLS. The 73 bags sewn will make it easier for volunteers to pick up and deliver washed laundry to neighbors who lack permanent housing and access to washing machines. A special thanks to Sew Good Goods for providing and prepping all the materials.

These patterns speak for themselves! Any of these would work beautifully in a skirt, jacket, home decor, or a bag. My favorite is the cats because the print so accurately depicts their actions!

Sewing Studio Tuesday 5/26
There is room in the Sewing Studio next Tuesday. These hands-on classes are designed to help you move forward with confidence. From garments to bags to home décor (and everything in between), you’ll get guidance, problem-solving help, and the motivation to keep going.

Sew Queer Friday 6/5
Plan ahead and register for Sew Queer in June. Come make new friends or greet old friends at the monthly Sew Queer evening. Bring whatever sewing or crafting you are working on or buy materials for a new project. Everyone knows sewing is more fun with friends!

Quilting for Beginners Saturday 6/27
Start the summer learning a new skill! Register for this one day class to learn the tools and tricks that will help you build a solid foundation for quilting. You will leave the class with a small quilted placemat and enthusiasm to keep quilting!

FOR INSPIRATION

Fableism fabric works really well for making plaid pleated skirts my daughter likes to wear. I used the plaid pattern of the Arcade Woven in Watermelon to decide how big the pleats should be, added some pockets, and an elastic waistband and finished a skirt! Sometimes you need a quick and easy project to get your sewing inspiration going. What easy project do you like to make?
