It's an exciting week at Sew Inviting. Mary and Charissa welcomed our first summer campers yesterday morning and they are eagerly using their creativity on all sorts of fun projects from bags to pillows to pj pants!
But who says camp should only be for kids? From July 13-17 we are offering Sew to Wear: Beginning Garment Sewing Camp for adults. If you have unstructured time in the summer, this is your chance to learn the basics of garment sewing in one week rather than in five weekly classes. Join us for camp to see how much you can learn while having a lot of fun! ~Laura and Staff
Featured product
I know summer is only beginning, but a vendor sent us these double sided quilted knit fabrics much earlier than we expected. Their mistake is our bonus as I think they will be excellent for a cool summer evening by a fire. Imagine a hoodie or a quarter zip jacket to wear when the sun sets and it gets a little cooler. The colors are rich, the diamond shaped quilting adds dimension, and the fabric is soft. What more can you ask for?

For Inspiration
When I saw this beautiful lightweight Indian cotton print at the trade show, I knew it would be a great Elody Dress by Closet Core. Rather than line the lightweight fabric, I decided to layer it over a knit tank slip I had previously made. The slip is also helpful since I thought I could skip a full bust adjustment (FBA) and the cross over is not as high as I would like. Lesson learned, again, that skipping needed pattern adjustments may may lead to creative solutions later.
